Positive Self-Image

We all have our causes we hold dear based on personal experience. Positive self-image is mine, and it infuses into my life on and off the yoga mat. Why?
I spent 20 years, more than half my life, as a negative self-image drama queen who used every destructive trick in the book to lose weight in an effort to find the beauty and diet industry promised happiness at the end of the health disaster and money pit tunnel. I recovered and emerged as a positive self-image evangelist.

My personal vision will give you insight into the life I enjoy today. Now that I am on the other end, living a life of joy and wellness, I can tell you that unconditional self-love is possible. Not the kind of self-love that is dependent on changing in any way. Not the kind of self-love that starts on Monday when you "finally get on track." No. I am talking about the kind of self-love that exists behind and through it all. The kind that runs so deep and leads to you never thinking of yourself as anything but beautiful. I wouldn't have believed myself a few years ago. I would have brushed this kind of hope aside and reserved it for others. But it's true. I wouldn't lie. Self-love is real, it is real for me, and it can be real for you. If you forget, ask me, because I am always prepared to dish out loads of positive affirmations and reality checks. And if you think the negative voice is your head is loud, know my voice is generally louder, my entire family is from New York, after all. I'm also here for a quiet hug.

Yoga has been the glue in my life that holds my self-love together. All of my classes come from a foundation of back care and self-love, and it's pretty amazing how the two go hand-in-hand. I love teaching and I love sharing messages of positive self-image. Prepare to be amazed by the goodness and peace you will find when you start loving yourself. It's so worth the work it takes to get there!
